Fundraising Update

It’s been one hell of a year for me and I’ve wanted to write this blog for a while, but for one reason or another, I’ve just never quite got around to it.

I still can’t quite believe what I accomplished both in terms of actually running a marathon and in fundraising.  I have so many reminders around me, but everything still seems like a bit of a dream.

Just in case you missed it the Gathimba Edwards Foundation have a brand new shiny website which looks amazing.  You can find it linked here: http://gathimbaedwardsfoundation.org/

Please pop in and have a look around.  It’s that good I reckon it is the dogs danglies!

As you were all so very generous I thought it was only right and proper to let you know what the cash has been used for:

First Year University fees for Peter and Fredrick

Computer classes for all of the kids who had finished secondary school

Driving lessons for Eliud Mugoya in January

Bought a TV for the Pavilion Children’s home

The rest of the money has ensured that all 22 children have not missed a day of school due to lack of fees.  It has also provided them with school uniforms and 3 meals a day.

This is not my last blog of the year.  I will do a review on what has gone on with my running over the past 12 months.

In the meantime though I would like to thank you for all your support.  I will be raising funds again next year for the Foundation when I take on my second Marathon (Loch Ness) in September 2015.  Again, I haven’t picked an easy one, but what the heck at least I’ll have earned every penny of that fundraising.

I couldn’t have done any of this without you all, so it only remains for me to wish you all (whatever your religion or belief system) a happy festive season. xxx
