Oooops, here we go again!

It’s been a bit of a funny week in which there has not been much running taking place (shock, horror!)

Had a lovely couple of runs with my lovely jogscotland group.  It seems like sometimes they are putting me through my paces sometimes rather than the other way around!  The thing is they are all improving and that makes me so happy.

Other than that I’ve not done much other than head to the gym for my usual weekly punishment:

Monday – Body Attack @ 0600

Wednesday – Body Pump @ 0630, CXWORX @ 1300 and Body Vive @ 1330

Thursday – Body Combat @ 0645

Tuesday and Thursday were a bit of a wash out and I just couldn’t get out of bed!  Wednesday saw me having a day off which I spent, going to the dentist, then the doctor, then back to the gym.

On Friday my working day was broken up nicely by a wonderful talk (Optimising your Midset) by local legend and all round lovely guy Mel Edwards.  You can find out more about Mel here:

Saturday, was a quick visit to Hazlehead parkrun to do the new runners briefing then I spent the rest of the day with friends listening to the wonderful Weyakpa Najin Win, Woman Stands Shining (Pat McCabe) of the Diné (Navajo) Nation.  Look her up if you would like to know more.

After these wonderful talks I was trying to figure out what to get up to today, when a little bird, by the name of Ann (Abz1903) suggested that I may want to enter another marathon.  She even offered to run with me.  Well since I have been suffering from the post marathon blues, what else could I do, so I entered.

I’m probably pretty easily swayed, but I had pretty much decided that running London Marathon for charity whilst very worthy puts so much pressure on you to raise funds.  I’d rather raise money for a charity I’m close to, so I decided to give it a miss.  I’ll get my chance to do London, it just won’t be next year.

So, that means that I’m going to have to get my act together and sort out my training plan.  Or more accurately, see which other races will fit in and enter them, although I will have to wait for pay day first.

Also lastly, I’d like to say a big thanks to Graham Dargie.  He’s been photographing us non elite runners for a project he’s doing, and boy has he made us all look fantastic.  You can find them on my Facebook page or in my photo gallery on 🙂
